چکیده

The use of adaptive noise cancellers (ANCs) to reduce the noise level prior to source separation is investigated in this paper. The foetal electrocardiogram (ECG) extraction problem in particular is addressed, which as well as with noise, is compounded by the non-stationary nature of the measurements. Consequently, computer simulations show that the combined Kalman filter and natural gradient algorithm [1], cascaded with a parallel ANC network, leads to a technique that can significantly improve separation performance. Moreover, it is shown that in some cases, the performance of the method is better than that of the JADE algorithm [2].

Adaptive Approach to Blind Source Separation with Cancellation of Additive and Convolutional Noise

In this paper an adaptive approach to cancellation of additive, convolutional noise from many{source mixtures with a simultaneous blind source separation is proposed. Associated neural network learning algorithms are developed on the basis of decorrelation principle and energy minimization of output signals. The reference noise is transformed into a convolutional one by employing an adaptive FI...

Acoustic Echo and Noise Cancellation System for Hand- Free Telecommunication using Variable Step Size Algorithms

In this paper, acoustic echo cancellation with doubletalk detection system for a hand-free telecommunication system is implemented using Matlab. Here adaptive noise canceller with blind source separation (ANC-BSS) system is proposed to remove both background noise and far-end speaker echo signal in presence of double-talk. During the absence of double-talk, far-end speaker echo signal is cancel...

Blind Source Separation for Adaptive Speech Control

Crosstalk resistant adaptive noise cancellation (CTRANC) is a method of separating convolutively mixed sources where little a priori information is known about the system. Possible areas of application for such an algorithm include speech signal processing, in telecommunications, and in the biomedical industry. In this paper we propose a novel adaptation to the traditional CTRANC which increase...

Adaptive-Filtering-Based Algorithm for Impulsive Noise Cancellation from ECG Signal

Suppression of noise and artifacts is a necessary step in biomedical data processing. Adaptive filtering is known as useful method to overcome this problem. Among various contaminants, there are some situations such as electrical activities of muscles contribute to impulsive noise. This paper deals with modeling real-life muscle noise with α-stable probability distribution and adaptive filterin...

Blind source separation of instantaneous MIMO systems based on the least-squares Constant Modulus Algorithm

Blind symbol detection for mobile communications systems has been widely studied and can be implemented by using either adaptive or iterative techniques. However, adaptive blind algorithms require data of sufficient length to converge. Therefore, in a rapidly changing environment, they are likely unable to track the changing channels. In such a situation, one possible solution is to use iterati...
